Lead AI Engineer

  • On-site, Hybrid
    • London, England, United Kingdom
  • Engineering

Job description

The next wave of enterprise software won’t be dashboards or copilots.

It will be Digital Workers, autonomous AI systems capable of executing complex workflows end-to-end. At causaLens, we are building the platform that enables enterprises to deploy these Digital Workers safely and at scale.

Our Digital Worker Factory allows organizations to design, deploy, and manage AI agents that automate decision-making, analytics, and operational workflows across the enterprise. These systems are already being used by global companies including Johnson & Johnson, Syneos Health and Cisco to transform how work gets done.

We are particularly focused on pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations, where AI is rapidly becoming the operating system for commercial analytics, forecasting, regulatory workflows, and medical intelligence.

Backed by $50M+ in funding from Molten Ventures, Dorilton Capital, and IQ Capital, and supported by visionary investors including the CEO of Revolut, causaLens is scaling rapidly. Our team includes leading AI researchers, engineers, and scientists, almost 20% with PhDs.

The Role

We are hiring a Lead AI Engineer to help design and deploy enterprise-grade AI systems and Digital Workers.

This role sits at the intersection of AI architecture, enterprise systems, and real-world problem solving.

You will work directly with global organizations especially in pharma and life sciences  to transform complex business workflows into reliable agentic systems running in production.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will:

  • design solution architectures

  • break complex problems into deliverable systems

  • guide engineering teams through implementation

  • ensure successful delivery in real enterprise environments

If you enjoy turning messy real-world problems into elegant systems, you’ll thrive here.

Job requirements

You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and real enterprise decision-making, building systems that transform how large organisations operate.

  • Examples of systems we build include:

    • AI Digital Workers that automate complex analytics workflows

    • Agentic AI systems that orchestrate multi-step enterprise processes

    • Decision intelligence platforms used by pharma companies for forecasting and commercial strategy

    • Enterprise AI architectures integrating LLMs, knowledge systems, and structured data

    • AI-driven automation of operational workflows across global organisations

To deliver these systems, you will:

    • Work directly with enterprise clients to understand complex operational and analytical workflows

    • Translate ambiguous business challenges into clear technical designs

    • Design scalable AI architectures and agentic systems combining LLMs, multi-agent systems, and knowledge retrieval

    • Break projects into clear engineering tasks and delivery plans

    • Guide engineers through implementation and technical decisions

    • Lead the end-to-end delivery of AI solutions from architecture through deployment

    • Collaborate with product and research teams to evolve the Digital Worker platform

    • Help define best practices for enterprise AI deployment

These systems operate at the intersection of LLMs, multi-agent systems, knowledge retrieval and reasoning, enterprise data infrastructure, and decision intelligence.

You will help build the next category of enterprise software. Instead of building dashboards or models, you’ll build AI systems that do the work itself.

At causaLens you will:

  • Work on mission-critical AI systems used by global companies

  • Help build the Digital Workforce of the future

  • Partner with leading pharma and life sciences organizations

  • Collaborate with an exceptionally strong, PhD-heavy team

  • Operate in a fast-moving startup environment

  • Grow into a technical leader in enterprise AI

Our culture values intellectual rigour, ownership, and the primacy of winning.
